Description: Inspired by an exploratory expedition in Alaska, this view is from a valley we descended into after spending a few weeks putting up first ascents on the other side of the col. We dropped down into unfamiliar terrain, with lots of uncertainty. For this one, I worked primarily from memory and imagination, trying to capture the feeling of being this terrain, separated from our comfortable basecamp. This piece is a continuation of my smaller, gestural, more affordable pieces.
